Alain Moueix is one of the most important protagonists in Saint Emilion organic and biodynamic movement. A fully qualified agricultural engineer and oenologist, he is the director of the family property Château Fonroque in Saint Emilion and of Chateau Mazeyres in Pomerol. Both properties have been reconverted towards a sustainable and organic production. He is vice-president of biodynamic organization Biodyvin, former president of Association of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé, and consultant of a number of wineries in France and South Africa. In 2011, he was name “Person of the Year” by the famous French gourmet guide “Gault & Millau”.
